Digital innovations are focused towards augmenting prevention, cure and wellness processes. The sixth event of the Do Big Symposium season 9 presented by Tata Tele Business Services & powered by CNBC-TV18 was held in Hyderabad at Park Hyatt on November 18th, 2016. Mr. Prateek Pashine, President Enterprise, Tata Tele Business Services presented Tata Tele Business Services’ view on Digital Dividends: A Leader’s Perspective. This was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Digital Dividends: A Leaders Perspective’. The panel consisted of Ashok Atluri, Founder and MD – Zen Technologies Ltd. Hari Thalapalli, CEO – Call Health, Saumen Chakraborty, CFO and Global Head of IT & Business Process Excellence at Dr. Reddy`s Laboratories, Harjit Singh Chauhan, SVP and Head - B2B Operations - Tata Teleservices Ltd. The event was brought to a close by a vote of thanks and summary of the evening’s proceedings delivered by Abhimanyu Radhakrishnan.

Ashok Atluri - (Chairman and Managing Director Zen Technologies)

Ashok is the Chairman and Managing Director of Zen Technologies (www.zen.in) where he is spearheading the initiative to indigenise training simulation technologies for Indian Defence. Since Zen’s inception in 1993, Ashok has been responsible for driving strategy and ensuring cutting edge R&D has led to the development of state-of-the-art import substitute simulators for the Defence and Homeland forces. Ashok’s mission is self-reliance in Indian Defence. He believes that by framing policies that encourage indigenous R&D and IP creation and ensuring super-fast procurement cycle, India can become self-reliant in a short time. He actively contributes articles and has written for Huffington Post, Indian Express, Business World, etc. Besides, Ashok believes that self-reliance in defence can be achieved only through R&D and IP ownership with Indian companies. He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He is also an active angel investor and has invested in about 10 companies till now. He is a post-graduate diploma holder in Applied Computer Science from CMC and has done his commerce graduation from Badruka College, Osmania University, He is a voracious reader with eclectic tastes encompassing management, buddhism, probability, technology, investment, defence technologies, virtual currencies, political systems and education. He is a continuous learner and has attended various executive programs in Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, London Business School, Indian Business School.

Hari Thalapalli - (CEO CallHealth)

Mr. Hari Thalapalli is a multi-disciplinary leader with close to three decades of experience in the Technology Services space. Prior to joining CallHealth, Hari was with TechMahindra, where he provided leadership to critical business process areas including business consulting, digital marketing, CRM, supply chain management, etc., with an annual revenue run-rate of approx $300 million. In addition, he provided leadership to the Global Marketing Function and was instrumental in Tech Mahindra’s brand positioning over the last six years. His prior roles involved building robust HR practices, through which he helped raise the performance bar and helped the organization scale newer heights. He has won many accolades, including the CPO of the Year Award from Bloomberg in 2010.

Saumen Chakraborty - (President, Chief Financial Officer and Global Head of IT & BPE Dr. Reddys)

Saumen Chakraborty is President and Chief Financial Officer of Dr. Reddys. He has over thirty two years of experience in both the strategic as well as the operational aspects of management and has played a significant role in the evolution of Dr. Reddy´s as a global pharmaceutical company. In his current leadership role he is responsible for the organisations financial and technological strategies and operations. Saumen joined Dr. Reddys in 2001. Over the years, he has headed multiple global functions including Human Resources, Corporate & Global Generics Operations, Quality, and IT. During this period, Saumen championed several best-in-class initiatives and global best practices that contributed to the transformation of Dr. Reddys into one of the most respected employers in India and also a "Great Place to Work. Previously, Saumen has worked with companies like CMC, C-DOT, Eicher and Tecumseh, and his experience spans Manufacturing, Sourcing, Customer Service, Quality and Consulting. Significant achievements by Saumen in his role as CFO include, leading the organisations secondary ADS (American Depository Shares) issue on NYSE, one of the fastest issues of bonus shares in India, the formulation of active Treasury and M&A strategies, and the revamping of the Board of Directors reporting processes. On the technology and business process front, he has driven key initiatives such as the complete implementation of the mySAP Business Suite, the Theory of Constraints (TOC) based approach to product development, manufacturing and supply chain effectiveness, and achieving execution excellence through the simplification of end-to-end business processes.
