To obtain UPC for MNP send SMS from the mobile number you want to port to the number ‘1900’ with text ‘PORT’ followed by space followed by your 10 digit mobile number you want to port.
Eligibility Criteria for making porting request
- A period of 90 days has expired from date of activation in case not ported earlier/or from date of activation of his mobile number after last porting
- There are no outstanding due to Donor Operator by way of pending bills as per normal billing cycle but before the date of application for porting.
- There is no pending request for change of ownership of the mobile number
- The mobile number sought to be ported is not sub-judice.
- Porting of the concerned mobile number not prohibited by court of Law
Grounds of rejection
- There are no outstanding due to Donor Operator by way of pending bills as per normal billing cycle but before the date of application for porting.
- The porting request has been made before expiry of a period of 90 days from date of activation of a new connection .
- A request of change of ownership of the mobile number is under process.
- The mobile number sought to be ported is under sub-judice.
- Porting of the mobile number has been prohibited by a Court of Law.
- Subscriber has applied for inter-service area porting.
- The unique porting code mentioned in the porting request does not match with the UPC allocated by the DO.
- There are subsisting contractual obligations in respect of which as exit clause has been provided in the subscriber agreement but the subscriber has not complied with such exit clause. Provided that DO rejects a porting request on the ground of subsisting contractual obligations, he shall give full details of such contractual obligations.
- Service Provider should not reject a request for porting under contractual obligation except in the case of
- i.The post paid connection with bundled handset with contractual obligation having exit clause and the subscriber has not complied with the same; and
- ii.Corporate connection with contractual obligation having an exit clause and the subscriber has not complied with the same;
- The Port Out is Not to be rejected if the outstanding payment due from the subscriber , in the previous paid bill, is less than Rs.10 /- which the Service Provider may include in the subsequent bill of the subscriber without any Penal Charges.
Undertaking by the subscriber
- In case of post paid subscriber , an undertaking by the subscriber that he has already paid all dues as per the last bill to the DO and that he shall be bound to pay all dues to the DO pertaining to the mobile number to be ported, and that he understands and agrees that in the event of non-payment of any such dues to the DO, the ported number shall without prejudice to any remedies available to the DO under law of recovery of such dues, be liable to be disconnected by RO.
- And Prepaid subscriber an undertaking to the effect that he understands that upon porting of mobile number, the balance amount if any shall lapse
- Service Provider may charge porting charge maximum up to Rs 19/-.
- You can withdraw your porting request within 24 hrs of applying. However, the porting charge is Non-Refundable.
- You are allowed to change mobile service provider within the same service area only.
- The change over takes place on the 7th working day (15th working day in case of J&K, Assam and North East Service areas).
